A guide for our guests
Welcome to us. Our greatest and most important treasure is nature. Here you can breathe clean air, drink the world's best water either straight from the tap or from a crystal clear stream. We must take care of this treasure and therefore we want to convey guidelines to you who visit us.
- Do not leave anything in nature: take your trash with you and use the toilet facilities
- Leave no trace in nature: always use marked trails, make use of existing campfire sites (remember that lighting fires in natural areas is not allowed from April 15 to September 15)
- Respect wildlife and plant life
- Use local: what you can buy locally, buy locally. Use local guides when you travel.
- Be considerate of the local population and other hikers. It is quite common to greet each other in nature. But remember that silence is part of the experience. If you take pictures, ask people around you if it is okay for you to photograph them.
- There are special rules in Pasvikdalen and not least in Øvre Pasvik National Park. For example, it is not allowed to light fires with fallen wood and tyriroot. more info: https://www.norgesnasjonalparker.no/nasjonalparker/ovre-pasvik/
- In both border waterways (Pasvikelva and Grense Jakobselva) there are special rules and restrictions for fishing. For more info: h ttps://www.politiet.no/tjenester/norsk-russisk-grense/fiske-og-ferdsel-i-vassdrag-nar-grensa/
- Foreign guests have limited opportunities for ice fishing in our waters from March 15 to June 15. For more info: https://www.fefo.no/fiske/innlandsfiske/
- In Norway, everyone is allowed to fish in the sea with handheld gear, but King Crab fishing is not allowed for foreigners, and you cannot get closer than 100 meters to fish farms while fishing. It is also not allowed to fish for resale or catch fish below the minimum size.
