Summer or winter?
If you want to experience summer and activities such as King Crab boat trips, bright nights, hikes, ATV tours or trips with electric scooters, you must travel between May and August to Kirkenes.
If you want to experience winter, cold, King Crab tours with snowmobiles, husky tours and the Northern Lights, you must travel between December and March to Kirkenes.
The Northern Lights are part of the experience from September to March .
A tip from us natives: September is wonderfully beautiful here with a fireworks display of autumn colors. The days are often sunny while the northern lights dance across the sky in the evening.
