Ä'vv Skolt Sami Museum

Ä'vv conveys the little-known history of the Skolt Sámi , the indigenous people of the area. The land of the Skolt Sámi is today divided between three different nations; Norway, Finland and Russia and the people number less than 2000 people. They are distinguished from other Sámi groups by their distinctive features in culture, religion, crafts and language. In the basic exhibition Saa'mijânnam Skoltelandet, visitors can experience Skolt Sámi history from the end of the Ice Age to the present day. This summer also the temporary art exhibition with John Savio's pictures, as well as the audio exhibition Kollješkuetted Begin to Hear.
